• The Caspian Sea is a lake in Asia called Sagar because of its large size.

• Located in Central Asia, this lake is the largest lake in the world by area.

• Its area is 4,30,000 square kilometers and volume is 78,200 cubic kilometers.

• It has no outflow and water only goes out through evaporation.

• Its salinity is 1.2 percent, which is one-third of the total salinity of all the world’s oceans.

• The Caspian Sea contains 40-44%% of the total water of all the world’s lakes in the world. Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran are its coastal countries.

• The Caspian Sea is also called Qazvin in ancient maps.

• कैस्पियन सागर, एशिया की एक झील है जिसे अपने वृहत आकार के कारण सागर कहा जाता है।

• मध्य एशिया में स्थित यह झील क्षेत्रफल के हिसाब से विश्व की सबसे बड़ी झील है।

• इसका क्षेत्रफल 4,30,000 वर्ग किलोमीटर तथा आयतन 78,200 घन किलोमीटर है।

• इसका कोई बाह्यगमन नहीं है और पानी सिर्फ़ वाष्पीकरण के द्वारा बाहर जाता है।

• इसका खारापन 1.2 प्रतिशत है जो विश्व के सभी समुद्रों के कुल खारेपन का एक-तिहाई है।

• कैस्पियन सागर विश्व में विश्व के सभी झीलों के कुल जल का 40-44%% जल है। तुर्कमेनिस्तान, कज़ाख़स्तान, रूस, अजरबैजान, ईरान इसके तटवर्ती देश हैं।

कैस्पियन सागर को प्राचीन मानचित्रों में क़ाज़्विन भी कहा गया है।
